Bridgebuilders: Workplace chaplaincy – a history, by Malcolm Torry, published by Canterbury Press in April 2010. It’s a long overdue history of industrial mission / workplace chaplaincy. This is an important book and every workplace chaplain will want a copy of it. The book will normally cost £20, but an agreement between Canterbury Press and Industrial Mission Association means copies will be available by post for £15 + £2 p&p (cheques payable to Industrial Mission Association) from the Rev’d Malcolm Torry, 37 Becquerel Court, West Parkside, London SE10 0QQ.

Community Chaplaincy - Where to begin? Churches have been playing an innovative role in helping resettle prisoners in the community. This booklet is an introduction to how this is done. You can volunteer to be trained as an individual or your Church may be interested in taking part.

It’s local people who feel the impact of development, yet their needs and concerns are all too often overlooked when councils and developers negotiate mitigation or “planning obligations” payments. Have your say! The Ethical Property Foundation has produced a jargon-free guide to arm you with the tools to input into these negotiations and maximise the benefits to your local community. To obtain a copy of the No Pain Guide to Gain: A Community Guide to Planning Obligations visit www.ethicalproperty.org.uk/PlanningActivism.php or call 020 7065 0760.
